The short version: you can use Triple Caution without an account. If you make one, we keep your email address. No ads, no tracking, and we never sell anything about you.
What we keep, and why
Without an account
Your routes, pace notes, stage times and settings stay on your phone. The app does get an anonymous ID from Firebase, so an account can be added later without losing anything. That ID isn’t linked to you.
With an account
- Your email address and a user ID, and your name if you sign in with Apple or Google and choose to share it. Used only to sign you in.
Your account is managed by Google Firebase Authentication. Your routes, pace notes and stage times still stay on your phone; nothing else is stored with your account.
Location
Your GPS position is used live during a stage to follow the route and time each call. It is processed on your phone and never sent to us.
Apple Maps
Routes are calculated by Apple’s MapKit. Your start, finish and waypoints go to Apple for that, under Apple’s own privacy policy.
App integrity
Firebase App Check confirms that requests come from the real app on a real device. It doesn’t identify you.
What we don’t do
No advertising, no analytics trackers, no selling or sharing of personal data.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data at any time. Write to contact email. If you’re unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
To delete your account, see Delete your account.
Who we are
Triple Caution is made by name or company, address, Belgium. It isn’t intended for anyone under 16.
